In New Zealand we believe we are blessed with an abundance of good clean water. However with
projections of climate change through global warming and increasing concern about water quality
and quantity (irrigation, recreation, giardia, algal blooms, urban and rural runoff etc) there
is an increasing realisation that we must look after the ultimate receiving environment, the
waters around us.
We must also bear in mind that the law in New Zealand is such that no person can ignore their
responsibilities in respect to damage to water and aquatic systems.
B & A staff believe that the health of the receiving environment is a reflection
of our respect for land, water and each other. To preserve or enhance these environments
requires us to rethink what we do on the land and in water. Our vision is:
Living in clean environments along side robust and diverse natural ecosystems
At B&A we work to maintain the integrity and biodiversity of waterways and coastal margins.
To do this we must look after the land and work hand in hand with land developers and regulatory
authorities to ensure growth is managed in a way which minimizes damage to and improves the
quality of our environment. Our vision of sustainable development encourages innovative subdivision
design, appraisal of alternative treatment options and enhancement of natural systems.
