Malcolm Todd, BE, B.Sc

Director

 

Malcolm is one of Babingtons' two Directors and is a Civil and Environmental Engineer who's been with Babingtons since 2006. Malcolm leads the land development and contaminated land teams at Babingtons and has extensive experience working in both the private and public sector in these fields.

Matt Byrne, B.E.S.

Director

 

Matt is one of Babingtons' two Directors and has been with Babingtons since 2004. Matt has over 30 years’ experience in the environmental protection field with a background in contaminated land, but these days  is predominantly involved with the land development aspects of earthworks and erosion and sediment control in the Auckland Region. Matt currently assists the Auckland Council on a wide range of projects providing expert advice on resource consents, land management and water protection. Matt is a certified independent hearings commissioner, being experienced in regional earthworks and streamworks, and environmental compliance.

Sarah Bradford

Operations Manager

 

Sarah has been with Babingtons since April 2003 and is a valuable member of the team. Sarah currently manages our accounting and basic operations from her home office on a part time basis and is the go-to person for any questions regarding accounts, administration or operational queries.

Lawrence Hui, B.Sc., Civil Engineer

Project Engineer

 

Lawrence is a Civil Engineer with experience in the environmental and civil engineering fields. Lawrence’s expertise is in stormwater management and overland flow path design as well as hydrological and hydraulic modelling. Lawrence has been involved in projects requiring flood risk and flow assessment, stormwater and wastewater treatment and disposal, stormwater modelling, and stormwater mitigation for both new and existing projects.

Georgia Skeen - MSc, PG Dip, BSc.

Environmental Consultant & Freshwater Ecologist

 

Georgia has been an Environmental Consultant with Babingtons since 2020, with experience spanning a broad range of ecological disciplines, including Freshwater Ecology, Earthworks and Erosion and Sediment Control, and Resource Consent Compliance and Auditing. She has expertise in freshwater environments, including streams, wetlands, and riparian systems, and the rules relating to works within these environments. Georgia currently undertakes ecological assessments, aquatic habitat evaluations, the preparation of mitigation and management plans, and provides support for resource consents and land development.

Geoff Barker, B.Sc.

Environmental Consultant, Contaminated Land

 

Geoff has been with Babingtons since 2023 and is an environmental scientist with a specialisation in contaminated land. Geoff has a wide range of experience including site investigations, HAIL activity assessments, the preparation of environmental monitoring reports, and reporting on all aspects of contaminated land assessment and remediation. Geoff is driven by a passion for the natural environment and his practical approach to projects help achieve positive outcomes for our clients.

Alan Ho, BE - Civil & Environmental

Senior Civil & Environmental Engineer

 

Alan joined Babingtons in 2025 and has quickly become a highly valued member of the team. He brings strong experience across three waters infrastructure, land development engineering, and the full engineering plan approval process. Alan is an effective communicator and continues to broaden his expertise, particularly through his growing involvement in environmental engineering. His commitment to quality and professional development makes him a key asset to every project he supports.

John du Toit, BE - Civil

Senior CAD Designer

 

John has been with Babingtons since 2023 as a Civil Engineer and resident CAD expert. John prepares scheme plan drawings and concept layouts in coordination with planners and surveyors, prepares earthworks and erosion and sediment control plans, and is involved in the design and preparation of stormwater, wastewater and water supply layout plans. John has an in-depth understanding of CAD, Civil 3D, and all aspects of modern drafting.

Fox, B.WuF

Office Dog, Land Cruiser Dog, Park Dog, Snooze Dog

 

Fox is Babingtons' resident friendly dog. He graduated from the University of Dogland with honours and has over 5 years’ experience in dog stuff and other dog projects. Fox has a wide range of skills including chewing bones and fetching balls, and likes nothing better than a good bark on occasion. As Fox explained recently: "Woof, woof, woof, barrrk, ba-ba-bark! Woof! woofwoof!" We couldnt agree more.


Fox also writes medieval Spanish poetry in his spare time, reminiscent of the work of Gonzalo de Berceo.
